Rooflect is a heat-reflective roof coating with excellent weatherproof and fire-resistant properties. Based on DHMb® (Double Hybrid Membrane) technology, it prevents heat gain through the roof by reflecting over 90% of UV radiation, while eliminating the possibility of further heat conduction by controlling moisture.

More information

Product description

MIG-ESP® Rooflect is a noble matt and high-coverage roof coating based on the MIG DHMb® Lining Technology (DHMb® = double hybrid membrane). The MIG-ESP® Rooflect exterior coating can be applied using paint rollers, brushes or the MIG-Zip 52 spray gun. MIG-ESP® Rooflect can be used on many substrates in all outdoor areas with the appropriate primer. A color selection can be made using the MIG-ESP® color chart. MIG-ESP® Rooflect must not be used on surfaces that are under water for long periods of time. The gradient must be at least 2%.

Work steps

1. Prepare the surface

The substrate must be clean, dry, solid and free from efflorescence, dust and loose parts or release agents (e.g. formwork oil)

2. Apply primer

depending on the substrate (see page 4, MIG DHMb® Lining System - Products Primers] e.g. apply MIG-ESP® Sealing Primer as a plaster hardener - allow to set for approx. 1 hour

3. Stir

Mix MIG-ESP® Rooflect with an electric mixer for approx. 3 minutes until the consistency is creamy

4. First order

MIG-ESP® Rooflect, white evenly spread crosswise and roll in one direction in the last step

5. Drying time

24 hours drying time between both coating processes

6. Second order

Distribute MIG-ESP® Rooflect, white or colored evenly in a criss-cross pattern and roll in one direction in the last step

processing

MIG-ESP® Rooflect is quick-drying and odorless during application.
Before processing, the material must be stirred mechanically for approx. 3 minutes. All adjacent components must be well covered and protected against splashes.
Do not use in direct sunlight, rain or high relative humidity.
MIG-ESP® Rooflect should be applied evenly using suitable rollers, brushes or the MIG-Zip 52 sprayer. The nozzle size should be 2.5 mm. You can purchase the low-pressure MIG-Zip 52 sprayer with a nozzle size of 2.5 mm from us. MIG-ESP® Rooflect must not be mixed with other materials. When using rollers, brushes or paintbrushes, dilution with drinking water or MIG-ESP® Sealing Primer of max. 3% is recommended for better processing; when using the MIG-Zip 52 sprayer, dilution of max. 5% is recommended. The object and ambient temperature must not be below + 5°C or above + 35°C during application.
In summer temperatures, shade is necessary. Surface drying is achieved after about 30 minutes. The drying time for each of the two coating processes under normal conditions (+ 20°C/65% relative humidity) is approx.
24 hours. Lower temperatures and higher relative humidity extend the drying time.
The substrate must be clean, dry, solid and free of efflorescence, dust and loose parts or release agents (e.g. formwork oil). For absorbent substrates, a primer coat with MIG-ESP® Sealing Primer is required. This solidifies the substrate and evens out different absorption behavior. For metal and concrete surfaces, cement fiberboards and contaminated, penetrating substrates, we recommend MIG-ESP® as a bonding bridge.
Special primer.
To achieve the full effectiveness of the MIG DHMb® Lining technology, a dry layer thickness of 0.40 mm is required! If MIG-ESP® Rooflect is applied with a roller or brush, experience has shown that two coating processes are necessary to achieve the required layer thickness. When processing colored MIG-ESP® Rooflect, MIG-ESP® Rooflect, white should be used for the first coating process, and the second coating is then colored.
Any construction defects or damage must be repaired before application!

consumption

Depending on the type and absorbency of the substrate, approx. 0.50 L/m2 for two coats on smooth surfaces

Rough, structured or highly absorbent surfaces can increase consumption considerably. The exact consumption quantities can be determined by creating test areas.

cleaning

Clean tools thoroughly with water after use. Empty containers completely and recycle them.

storage

Stored in a dry, frost-free and cool place under proper conditions in the original, sealed containers, the product can be stored for at least 12 months from the date of sale. Dyed goods must be used within 3 months.
